early xmas shopping

Had an early Christmas shopping this year because ill be leaving on december 6 to join my hubby in singapore...the malls are not busy yet but there were many good deals especially here...however, i find it hard to decide kung ano ibibigay ko sa mga inaanak ko...i always doubt if they will like it OR if they already have it....huhuhu...i told my mom that maybe i should just give them money or a gift certificate! my mom suggested to just buy gifts for my inaanaks and ask the store if they could give me a "gift receipt" and then attached it inside the gift...gift receipts will not show the price of the gift but it will enable you to exchange the item anytime naman...good idea right? so i bought some items at toys r us for my inaanaks...for our ninongs and ninangs sa wedding, i just made a gift basket...and for hubby, family and friends and our dog riley, secret na lang because they might read this post (nakaka-read daw si riley o!)...hehehe...by the way, i also bought a gift for myself! a sudoku video game...LOL

****

just have to share you this story.....last week, i came early at work and there was a patient who pointed at me and said "ship her back to China"...i didn't get mad because i know this patient is confused but i've noticed he says that whenever he see me...he is not even mean to any asian workers in the ward but just to me and other chinese workers...in my mind, i want to to tell him that if he wants to insult me at least get it right naman....hehehe....for the nth time, im not from CHINA! this is not the first time someone told me to go back to China...i clearly remember the time when i was new here...when i was in my grace12, my parents only gave me 5bucks/day for fare and food and one time i was waiting for the bus when this drunk guy approached me and asked for toonie...take note, he asked for toonie and not quarter! i only had 2.50 that time and the bus fare is 2bucks so i gave him my 50cents instead....he got mad and told me to go back to China! i was scared because he was drunk that time...huhuhu...good thing, he didnt do anything bad to me...you thought that was bad?! nono, this one is worse....4 years ago when i was working in the information booth in one of the malls here, one guy told my coworker that "yellow people" like me should not be given an opportunity to work in the mall...when i heard that, i got really insulted and cried....my boss was mad and the man was prohibited inside the mall...some people are just plain ignorant and color blind....hehehe...yellow daw ako?

Ok lang yun sis ... sa mga experiences na yan ... diyan ka naging successful di ba :) cheer up mwah!

Wow, very organized naman - early xmas shopping! ;)

re: that patient who mistook you as being Chinese - that's so unacceptable! I know you work in the hospital at the 'Peg - isn't that supposed to be dealt with right away!?!? buti na lang you're a very nice person - but sis, don't let them talk down on you. I hope you told your superiors about it.

Here in cowtown, there are BIG notices in the hospitals (and public places) about these - racial slurs. It's not being tolerated at all.

But you did us proud by not stooping down to his level. And, big hugs to you for staying professional.

Hi Alynn,

wow i admire you for being so nice to those stupid people. estupido talaga sila. they all think ASIA is composed of one country: CHINA. and they all think asians have yellow skin and slit eyes. thats how uneducated they are. ako naman wala pa kong experience na ganyan in those so called developed countries. funny enough, sa China pa mismo ung closest experience ko with discrimination. i was applying for my first job ever--teaching sana in this school in china. nung mag d-demo teach na ko, sabi sakin nung pinaka head principal , if its ok lang ba na sabihin ko im from Peru , not the Phils. sabi ko at bakit?! sabi nya, basta. kasi di daw mabibilib sakin mga students (who are professionals, older than most of us) if they find out im from pinas. well i told them i was from the phils, and im GLAD i did Not get the job! :D

but i really admire you for your patience. siguro kung sakin nangyari un wala rambulan na siguro haha :D

tc and have fun in singapore!

How can people be so mean? They think they are better than you when in fact mas angat ka naman sa kanila. Kapal talaga ng mga mukha ng mga taong ganyan. Kainis!

Regarding gifts, buti ka pa nakapamili na. Ako wala pa ni isa. I never seem to know what to get for people and I end up buying whatever na lang. How sad!

that's kind of racist ano? since that tirade by that richards actor shouting the "N" word at the audience, i've watched a lot of u.s shows making features on the topic. tsk, tsk.
